Costco Wholesale Corporation plans to electrify more of its operations and designs to help its sites be more energy efficient, and reduce the amount of waste produced at their facilities. In addition to this and other plans to reduce carbon emissions, the Washington-based global retailer monitors how it uses energy by performing audits and performing energy-efficiency measures, such as upgrading lighting and installing heat pump water heaters.
